Iran’s culture – ❤ What is Yalda night?
Iran’s Culture: Every country has its own customs and traditions. Iran is no exception to this rule, habits, however small, that are passed down from generation to generation.
Culture is a set of customs, ethics, and beliefs of the people of a country that have been recorded throughout history, and human beings learn and practice these cultures from generation to generation and give great value to their country.
In general, the elements of Iranian culture that are beyond the political borders of Iran can be summarized as follows:

Yalda night
Yalda night, which is also called Cheleh night, is the longest night of the year.
On this night, people gather around the fire, dancing, and dancing to celebrate this night. On this night, family members gather together and spend the night in the morning. They seize the opportunity and enjoy being together. Everyone puts special foods on the table of Yalda according to the customs of their region.
Yalda night coincides with the first night of winter, which from ancient times to the present day has been held on various occasions under various pretexts. On this night, each culture celebrates in its own way. For example, this night is called Christmas Eve for Christians, the Jews have a ceremony called Hanukkah. But in some countries, such as Iran, due to the length of the night, they are busy reciting Hafiz and holding special ceremonies.
Carpet weaving
The art of carpet weaving is one of the most valuable assets of Iran and the history of carpet weaving dates back to ancient times. In addition to the economic aspect, carpets and rugs represent Iranian art and culture. One of the interesting customs among Iranian women is singing while weaving carpets. Singing while weaving the rug has a weight and melody that is in harmony with tying the strings. Carpet-weaving is one of the original arts of Isfahan. The art of carpet weaving, like other arts, has its own style according to the region and the people. This causes differences in carpet and rug texture and quality.
Iranian traditional music
Iranian traditional music, also known as original Iranian music, Iranian classical music, and instrumental music, including instruments, melodies, and songs, has been available from the years BC to the present day. Much of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and Greece are influenced by this music, and each has contributed to the formation of this music. Among the musicians or musicians in ancient Iran, we can mention “Barbad”, “Nakisa” and “Ramtin”. Genuine Iranian music is one of the oldest musical styles from ancient times to the present day.
Ancient and historical cities of Iran
Iran has many ancient monuments due to its several thousand years old. Some of Iran’s historical cities have also been registered by UNESCO.
Citadel of Bam
The brick structure of Bam Citadel was built on the Silk Road in the 5th century BC and was used until the 19th century.
One hundred gates
Its Greek name is Hecatompilus, which is located in Khorasan and dates back to 2 centuries BC.
Persepolis
Its other names in different periods were Parseh, Persepolis, Sadstone, Hezarstone, and Chehel Minar. Construction of Persepolis began in 518 BC.
City of Susa
It is one of the oldest settlements in the world, dating back to 4000 BC.
Dragon Castle
A castle named after the great strength of its walls. Inside is a well-made stone, which according to legend contained a treasure of gold protected by a snake. It dates back to the Sassanid period and an exact date is not available.
